This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do — and do not do — with your images and data.

Information Collection

RemoveBgNow does not require you to create an account, log in, or sign up. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, password, payment details, or any other information that could identify you personally.

The only data we may collect is technical information that your device or browser shares automatically when you visit a website or use an app. This includes things like:

• Device model, operating system version, and browser type
• General geographic region (country-level only — we never access your precise location)
• Basic usage statistics such as which features you use and how long you stay on a page
• Anonymous advertising identifiers, where applicable and with your consent where the law requires it

None of this information can be traced back to you as an individual. It is collected in aggregate and used to understand broad trends, not to track specific people.

Image Upload & Processing

This is the heart of what we do — and the part we know you care about most. When you use our background remover, passport photo maker, or image upscaler, here is exactly what happens to your image:

• Upload: Your image is sent to our servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection. No one else can read it in transit.
• Processing: The image is processed on our own servers using AI models we either built or licensed. At no point does a human look at your image.
• No training: We do not use your uploaded images to train, improve, or develop our AI models. Your photos stay yours.
• No sharing: We do not sell, share, or distribute your uploaded images to any third party.
• Result: Once processed, you can download the result or share it directly from the app or website.

What goes on our servers stays on our servers — briefly — and then it is gone.

Temporary Image Storage

We store your uploaded images temporarily because our servers need time to process them. This is not permanent storage — it is a holding area while the AI does its work.

Once your image has been processed and you have had a reasonable chance to download the result, the image is automatically deleted from our systems. This automatic cleanup happens within a limited time window after processing completes. We do this for storage management and operational efficiency — keeping gigabytes of processed images around helps no one, least of all your privacy.

If you close the app or browser tab before downloading, the image is still deleted automatically within that same window. We recommend downloading your processed images promptly, as we cannot extend availability beyond the temporary storage period. We do not keep backups, server logs, or any residual copies of your uploaded images after deletion.

Analytics & Advertising

Like most apps and websites, we use analytics tools to understand how people use RemoveBgNow and to show advertisements that help us keep the service free. These tools collect anonymous usage data and device-related information such as:

• How often the app is opened and which features are used
• Device type, operating system, and app version number
• Country-level location data

For advertising, ad networks may use your device’s advertising identifier (such as the Android Advertising ID) to decide which ads to show you. Depending on where you live:

• In regions that require consent: We will ask for your permission before showing personalized ads based on your activity.
• In other regions: You may see personalized ads by default, and you can always opt out through your device settings.

Non-personalized ads use only general information (like the content of the page or your approximate location) and do not track your behavior across different apps or sites.

Firebase Services

We use Firebase, a platform by Google, for two specific purposes:

• Firebase Analytics — This helps us understand how people use the app: what features are popular, where users get stuck, and whether the app crashes. It collects anonymous event data and device information. We cannot identify individual users from this data.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — This lets us send push notifications to Android users for important updates or service announcements. FCM uses anonymous device tokens, not personal information.

Google Analytics (Website)

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns — which pages people visit, how long they stay, and how they found us. This data is anonymized and aggregated. Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser for this purpose (more on that below).

Google AdMob

We display advertisements through Google AdMob to keep RemoveBgNow free. AdMob may use your advertising identifier and device information to decide which ads to show you. Here is how it works:

• Personalized advertising: Ads are tailored to your interests based on your app usage and browsing activity. In regions where laws require it, we will ask for your explicit consent before enabling this.
• Non-personalized advertising: Ads are based on the content of the page and your general location. No user profiling or behavioral tracking is involved.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — for a few limited purposes:

• Essential cookies: Needed for the website to function properly, such as maintaining your session during image upload.

We keep different types of data for different lengths of time, and we never hold onto anything longer than necessary:

• Uploaded images: Deleted automatically shortly after processing. We do not keep copies or backups.
• Analytics data: Retained by Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics in anonymized, aggregated form for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically aged out.
• Advertising data: Handled by Google AdMob under Google’s own data retention and deletion policies.
• Crash logs and error reports: Kept for a limited period to help us identify and fix bugs, then deleted.

Our approach is simple: if we do not need it, we do not keep it.

User Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. These can include:

• Access: Ask us what data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to fix inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Ask us to delete your data.
• Opt-out: Withdraw consent for analytics or personalized advertising.

If you want to stop all analytics collection, you can uninstall the app. To opt out of personalized ads, go to your device settings, find the Google Ads section, and toggle off ad personalization.

Security

We take data security seriously. Here is what we do to protect your information:

• Our server infrastructure uses firewalls, access controls, and regular security reviews.
• Uploaded images are only accessible to automated processing systems — no human access.
• We follow industry-standard security practices and keep our dependencies updated.

That said, no system is perfectly secure. While we do everything reasonable to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats. We are transparent about this because honesty matters more than promises we cannot keep.

Children’s Privacy

RemoveBgNow is not designed for or directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under that age.
